RFIDlogic has relationships with a number of specialty middleware vendors like Loftware for Print Servers. Additionally, we have a middleware product, Shadowfax™, capable of tying the benefits of RFID technology to existing systems. Whether our client uses Shadowfax™, or a product from another supplier, RFIDlogic will ensure the most cost effective, ultimate solution.

Shadowfax™ – Enterprise RFID Middleware

RFIDlogic’s involvement in integrating RFID solutions into supply chains and manufacturing environments has manifested itself into a sophisticated, scalable software middleware specifically designed to support enterprise RFID applications.

Shadowfax™ is a multi-tiered, platform-neutral distributed middleware platform, which enables easy and seamless integration between a variety of RFID hardware and any legacy IT infrastructure. The core of our enterprise middleware is an intelligent Complex Event Processing (CEP) engine. The CEP engine is responsible of detecting RFID-based events occurring throughout the supply chain and translating them into meaningful business events.

After scoping out all the specific business processes, we define a set of event mapping rules. Business events are relayed to business specific event handlers, which are either reused from our constantly growing repository of existing event handlers or by developing custom event handlers based on customer specific requirements.

Currently, our RFID middleware can interchange data with target enterprise systems using the following interfaces:

• SQL/JDBC/JDO/ODBC/DAO
• SAP JCO
• XML
• CSV flat files

As part of out integration services, we will tailor any necessary interfaces to a customer's specific enterprise application.
