Manufacturing solutions typically involve the use of RFID in optimizing the process of creating the Finished Good. Works in Progress (WIP) are tracked from the beginning of the process (i.e., Raw Material) through the end of the process (i.e., Finished Goods). RFID can be utilized in the process, eliminating manual tracking and optimizing the movement of the Raw Material as it progresses through the manufacturing line.
Warehousing is an excellent candidate for RFID technology. Asset tracking is used mainly when there is a requirement to locate and identify the movement of assets. Each asset is tagged and by interrogation of the tag, the system identifies its current location and updates information about the Asset in the Database.
